Abano Terme and surroundings

Abano Terme is not only the capital of wellbeing in Italy, is also a perfect starting point for exploring unknown and fascinating places as the Botanical Gardens, cities with a great history as Bassano del Grappa and Padua, and ancient noble villas as Villa Emo and Villa Barbarigo.

For you we have selected some of the most beautiful places in our area, which you can visit by yourselves or with guided tours that our staff can arrange for you upon request.

Bassano del Grappa

The city of Bassano del Grappa, located at the foot of the Alps, is a picturesque town in the Veneto region, famous for its Alpini Bridge that connects the two banks of the Brenta.

The small houses with warm colors, wood works, parks and mountains all around, make it a charming location. At the center of the town there is its bridge, one of Italy's most famous totally wooden covered bridges, repeatedly shot down but always rebuilt. Last time the Alpini soldiers, at the end of World War II, wanted to recover the ancient work, faithfully following the original design, which was made by the famous architect Palladio.

Bassano del Grappa is in fact in the heart of the land of Palladio, surrounded by great historic mansions of great artistic value.

Bassano del Grappa is definitely worth a visit because of its museums and architectural works of great cultural interest. Among the other stand the Civic Tower, Piazza Cadorna and the Civic Museum, one of the most important in the Veneto.

Inside the Civic Museum of Bassano del Grappa there are over 500 paintings, particularly of Jacopo dal Ponte, but also many drawings and sketches of Canova, who was born in these places.

Bassano del Grappa hosts the Strum Palace too, which houses the Museum of Ceramics, but that in itself is a great work of art. This imposing eighteenth century building preserves splendid frescoes and stucco of great importance.

Also worth visiting is the Museum Bonaguro of Bassano del Grappa, where there are major geo-paleontological collections, as the Herbarium Parolini and a large collection with birds, tigers and many other mammals from all over the world.
