Yesterday and today

Do you know the story of the Hotel Ariston Molino Buja?

The Hotel Antiche Terme Ariston Molino has one of the most romantic and unique stories in Abano Terme. It was a mill, then turned into the Ufficial Typography of the Supreme Command and at the end it became the oasis of the thermal cures, as it still is today: this is the evolution of our hotel!

Mill until 1888

The first information about the Ancient Mill of Abano Terme goes back to 1761. Right here where our hotel stands today there was a mill that was turned into a tavern a few years later.

In 1888 the building was beaten down and replaced by a thermal establishment: the “Antiche Terme Molino”.

From Thermal Baths to the Great War

During the First World War the thermal establishment changed its function and became first of all a military hospital and after the Ufficial Typography of the Supreme Command headquarter!

In 1918 the story became even more interesting: right here were printed the tricolor slips of paper that Gabriele D’Annunzio let fall over Vienna on August 1918, the 9th, during the famous flight over the Austrian capital.

1938 - 2018: our first 80 years

In 1938 Ernesto Buja, Giancarlo’s grandfather, bought out and revolutionised the establishment.

Without missing the historic importance of this place, the Buja family chose to return to the origins: the building is the headquarter of a state-of-the-art hotel and thermal establishment.
